Before you begin
Applying for an account has never been easier! You’re just a few short steps away from opening a new account.
During the process, you’ll be asked to:
Enter your legal name on the application
Select which products and related services you wish to apply for
Fill out the online application
Review and accept our account disclosures
Answer a few brief questions that help us verify your identity and protect your information
Choose how you’d like to initially fund your account. (You can mail a check, transfer from an existing Sunmark account, transfer from another bank or credit union account, or use a debit/credit card.)
Information you will need during the application process
To make this process faster and easier, please have the following information handy:
Social Security Number for applicant (and co-applicant, if any)
A valid U.S. issued government picture ID, such as a driver’s license for applicant (and co-applicant, if any)
Information for funding your new account (a checkbook, account number from another financial institution, or a debit/credit card)
For your protection, this system is protected with enhanced security. During the application process, you will be asked questions about loans or accounts you currently hold that only you should know the answers to. This will help us validate your identity. You may wish to have this information handy during the application process as well.
Important Information About Procedures for Opening a New Account
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.

Online Service eSign Disclosure and Consent
Opening a Sunmark Membership Plan, secondary suffix or loan account means you agree to receive electronic communications in connection with these accounts and services. By selecting "I have read, understand, and agree to Sunmark Credit Union’s Online Service eSign Disclosure and Consent" you consent to receive all disclosures and communications regarding products and services electronically; these communications are considered “in writing.” These include, but are not limited to, our account agreements and amendments thereto, all service, product and loan disclosures, notices, responses to claims, service history and transaction records, online banking disclosures and agreements, privacy policies, and all legal, regulatory and other communications related to your account. You further agree that your computer satisfies the hardware and software requirements specified below and that you have provided us with a current email address at which we may send electronic communications to you.
You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us at memberservice@sunmark.org or calling us at 866-SUNMARK (866-786-6275). Please be aware, however, that withdrawal of consent may result in the termination of your Membership Account. In order to receive electronic notices, statements and disclosures, you must have an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and a Web browser that supports the level of encryption employed by Sunmark’s Online Banking service, currently 128 bit. Sunmark may change these requirements from time to time. If any of these requirements change, we will provide you with advance notice of the change.
We will not send you a paper copy of any communication, unless you withdraw consent or we otherwise deem it appropriate to do so. You can obtain a paper copy of an electronic communication by printing it yourself or by requesting that we mail you a paper copy, provided that such request is made within a reasonable time after we first provided the electronic communication to you.
Online Banking Access
Sunmark’s Online Banking can be accessed by going to www.sunmark.org and logging into your account. You’ll need to choose a username and password to log into online banking. First-time users will log in using their account number and last four digits of social security number.
Updating Your Records
It is your responsibility to notify the Credit Union of a change in mailing or physical address, change of email address or change of name. We may require all name and address changes to be provided through our electronic services or in writing. You agree any changes made can extend to all accounts and services at Sunmark. The Credit Union is only required to attempt to communicate with you only at the most recent email or physical address you have provided to the Credit Union. If the Credit Union attempts to locate you and is unable, the Credit Union may impose a service fee as set forth on the "Fee Schedule."
